  • sorry

if you wondered why it took so long to update..

my laptop was taken back to head office because there was a problem with it.

    annoying but now its fixed.

    which is good…

    anyway…

    back to daily bloggings

  • her mattress…

so i spent part my afternoon in a rage.. not because my fiance piked out on me and we couldn’t go to the beach in this lovely 34 degree weather because he had some work to do.

No, i wasn’t mad at that even though I should be because i did ask him, and he said “sure”… and then when saturday came round, turns out his has some stupid presentation to do next week and because last week was so busy (when isnt he NOT busy) meant that he didnt get round to doing any of the work that he should have done.

I was mad because my sister who decided to move out, and even though my parents were extremely mad and said they disowned her and never wanted to see her ass again…

cut the story short, they caved, and we inherited her stupid qs frame and mattress.

That’s not the part I was mad, I got extremely mad when my dad asked my sister and her douchebag friends and bf (or whatever the hell their relationship happens to be) to drag her mattress upstairs because it was going to go into my old bedroom as he was going to re-setup.

I ONLY moved out of that room into my sister’s old room because we were going to turn my old room into a tv/study room. If we are to set up her stupid qs bed in that room, then it defeats the purpose of moving into this room because THIS room is actually smaller than my previous bedroom…

    AND

my stupid sister made the decision to MOVE out, and it’s not our problem that she can’t afford rent and is now moving in with her bf.. who mind you lives in a HOUSE and God only knows why she can’t store it there.

Somehow we have become the dumping ground for her unwanted furniture and I’m the one that ends up losing out.

And you know why my dad insisted that we set up “miss precious’ bed in the other room” because if we store it in the shed, the rain would damage it.

Do i even care? of course not!

but my fiance (after some yelling and screaming from my part- dont ask)… went online and bought one of those secure mattress bags where apparently rain cant get in… so maybe we got a chance of shoving it in the shed..

Seriously, really tempted to set a bonfire to her shit.

  • smoking

I have friends who smoke… in fact, my dad smokes (although he tries to quit- unsuccessfully)…

but it doesnt stop me from thinking that smoking is in fact a disgusting and vile habit to have. I’m glad I never picked up the habit, it’s also expensive.

As much as it’s legal, to me, it’s no different than taking drugs. Both are addictive except one is legal.

If ever the government decided one day to ban smoking, besides the fact that there would be an uproar but you’d see a lot of people probably breaking the law and suffering badly.

Ask anyone that’s quit or tried to quit, it’s no easy task.

You know, there are heroin addicts who get clean and stay clean… for life. Can’t really say the same for a lot of smokers.

Like I said, my dad’s an off and on again quitter. Usually the periods of “non” smoking lasts no more than 6 months. But he’s hella cranky during this period. It’s kinda like living with someone with bad PMS for 6 months.

Although I do admire those who manage to quit for good.

  • updates

We went to that Auction of they creepy house. Even after inspecting it the second time- still creepy.

The house was sold for $435,000. Personally i think it’s overpriced considering there’s so much work to be done.

Lots of people rocked up all believing they were going to get a bargain. No bargain here. The bank got what they wanted (the price paid was the reserve).

On a totally different thing altogether.

Not sure how many of you feel the same but lately I don’t feel like Melbourne is as safe as it used to be. I mean I’ve been aware of the crimes but after the few incidents -terrible crimes against women- 1st being the disappearance of Jill Meagher which then turned out to be a rape/murder and then the latest of this girl from Bacchus Marsh who disappeared and turned out dead a few days later.

Seriously… how is a girl to feel secure when.. who knows what weirdo is lurking about.

I don’t like being alone at all, even when I’m finishing up at the swimming pools and leaving at 9. It worries me.

But I really can’t stay indoors all the time, and it bothers me that based on a few idiots out there, they have somehow starting to change my habits and feelings about things in general. But what am I really to do?

I know I’m more cautious now and act differently then I did before (most of it is good) for example:

-whenever i walk to the car, prior to even getting there. I ensure that I have the car keys in my hand from the venue to the car.I don’t want to be distracted by looking for my car keys and not realize that there’s some douchebag.

-no matter where I’m going, I always let someone know where I’m going, when I get there and when I plan to leave. Usually I let someone know (usually the fiance) that I have arrived at the destination safely.

    - i never park my car in some dark dingy corner of a car park and always park under street light (even if it means the birds use my car like a public toilet)

-will pay the extra to park at secure car park then some random off street parking.

-always locking my car doors the moment i get in

some things ive been doing way before i started to feel insecure… somethings (like having car keys ready)- have taken some time to change as a habit.

    what have u done differently?

  • Twilight- breaking dawn

    It’s a weird deal:

If my fiance enjoyed Twilight- Breaking Dawn Pt2 then I wouldn’t have to watch all 3 sex and the city movies with him.

For whatever weird reason- he is a BIG fan of SATC.

Anyway- so we went to watch the movie yesterday…

a couple had decided that it was the “best” decision to take their newborn along to the cinemas to catch the 8.30pm session. I’m not anti-babies although they can be annoying when on planes (especially if I’m trying to sleep) but taking a baby to the cinemas is kinda weird, especially to go watch Twilight.

Sure, if the baby slept like a log throughout the movie, it wouldn’t have been a problem except the baby cried at different stages of the movie. Several times one of the parents would have to get up and take the baby outside to calm them down. And yes, I did give them the deathly stare and the father gave me dirty looks. Seriously?! An 8.30pm movie session to Twilight is kinda the wrong place to be taking mother and baby too.

Yes, I get the argument that parents need to get out too, BUT these people need to be realistic, having a baby changes your life. and you also need to be aware of OTHER people. This couple basically ruined the movie experience for everybody else (it doesn’t matter that it was a Twilight film either).

It was bad enough that we had to contend with stupid parents who can’t get their shit together but there was a lady who kept cracking us up. She laughed like a hyena, and so even when nothing funny was happening, for whatever reason- when she started to laugh- we laughed. The laugh irritated my partner but the more it irritated him, the more funnier it became…

Needless to say even with a laughing hyena and a crying baby- I fortunately do not have to watch sex and the city.

  • makeup

I’m really amazed at the women who are able to find the time to get up and make themselves look good…and it doesnt matter what time of the day it is either.

For example, I was at the airport at 6am and there were plenty of women who had their makeup done and hair up in very nice styles.

I couldn’t bring myself to do any of that because to be at the airport at 6am with makeup on would probably mean a 4.30am wake-up call.

I know there are some women who are very quick at putting on makeup, but no matter how quick they are- for me, that’s time best spent sleeping. I struggle to get out of bed at 7am on most days to get to work, let alone at 5am when I need to travel.

I’m also skeptical of women who claim they can put on their makeup within 5minutes (and it’s not even mineral makeup). Personally in my head, I’m screaming out “LIAR” but i don’t. But seriously, if you’re wearing mascara, eye liner, lip liner, blush and heavy foundation… there is NO way all of that can be done within 5 minutes… and yes, i wouldnt mind being proved wrong either.

I don’t wear makeup when I fly because it makes my skin feel even more gross. Flying is so drying on the skin…

  • my purse

Currently I’m pretty devastated… my Blvgari purse needs to be repaired.

It’s supposed to have 4 front pockets (where you place your cards) and the front pocket lost it’s stitching and has become ONE big pocket instead of 2.

Yes, I know, if i put too many cards into the slots, something like this would happen. But I’ve been using similar purses (from different brands) with the same amount of cards without any hassles. Although the Gucci one I purchased had a broken zip.

I’m hoping that BLVGARI will fix it for free as I’ve ONLY had it for less than 3 months and seriously for the price we paid for it, it better be FREE.

and this is why, i don’t dabble into the world of luxury brands where buying a $3000 bag would be pointless if it’s going to be ruined in a matter of days/weeks/month. Unlike 99% of the population who doesn’t break things just by looking/touching it, I have this uncanny ability to just break/damage/destroy items- and it doesn’t matter how durable companies try to  market them.. just give it to me and it’d be broken no doubt.

And seriously, in regards to my purse, stitching was the last thing we even thought of… my partner asked the sales assistant half a dozen questions on what if scenarios  where the purse was damaged in the following ways:

    • the serpent head falling off (the purse is part of the serpenti range)
    • parts of the scale of the serpent head fell off
    • the BLVGARI lettering came off
    • the zipper breaking
    • the zipper tag came off

Yes, he tried to touch base on so many different things, everything except “what if the stitching came undone”

Although all the answers were “bring it back, we’ll fix it for free” except the serpent head might cost money if we lost it altogether.

Which goes to show… you’ll never know which way/how/when… things are just going to be repaired or replaced when it comes to me…

    Just my luck

  • hot hot properties? i think not

The last couple of weeks, I have been scouring the internet looking at potential properties to buy.

I’m not even sure if I’m in the market to buy one to begin with, but it’s an interesting exercise nonetheless and it keeps me entertained for the better half of the day. Currently have hit a road block with organizing wedding stuff, any more and I’ll go AWOL.

It has occurred to me that there are way too many people who are living among the clouds in la-la land somewhere. A lot of the asking prices are anything but realistic. Many of them are laughable.

Perhaps 18months ago or even 2-3 years ago, the prices that are asked today would be somewhat realistic but in today’s market, I highly doubt it.

Homes purchased during the boom are now being sold less. Differences can be anywhere between 40-80K. And that’s a lot of ouchies.

    Oh and it shows….

I’ve been to several auctions of these homes and most of them have been passed in because the vendors THINK they deserve more (as in more for what they paid for) and the market (as in the buyers) won’t justify the high prices. Why spend more money on this property when the one down the road with the same specifications is going for less?

And so we’re now sitting on what seems to be like a property glut. Some property owners have decided to sit on their homes instead of selling, which is all nice and dandy however if it’s a cash flow issue then waiting around may not be the answer.

It should be a buyer’s market but with unrealistic vendors, nothing is really going for what it should be.

    interesting nonetheless

  • fatigued

Seriously I would not be surprised if I come down with a cold…My body feels fatigued.

It doesn’t help when I’m taking “travelcalm” tablets (they’re the stuff that ONLY work for me when I fly on planes) so that I don’t mess up because I’ve had to throw up. But they also make me extremely sleepy.

Whenever I get off the plane, I feel all sorts of weirdness, kinda like walking into a zombie film set and I’m the zombie.

It also doesn’t help that I’ve been doing long drives to various destinations…

But for me, the biggest killer is the time difference, and I know Qld is ONLY 1hr behind.. it’s great when you travel from Melb to Brissie but when it’s the other way around..it’s a definite killer.

You leave at 4, and you arrive at 7:30. It’s not a 3hr flight but due to the time difference, it is.

Your body has to quickly adjust to the difference in “lights”

What also makes it worse is that there’s some moderate weather changes. It’s currently 18 degrees in Melbourne, everywhere else I stayed at for the last couple of days had a minimum of 25. Going from cold to hot then back to cold… just makes my head spin.

I’m so tired right now, it’s not funny.

the following week (not the one coming up) I’d be up in the air again travelling to all kinds of weird and wonderful places.

    EEK!

  • I’m back

i left Tuesday morning at 5.30 am so I could catch a 7am flight. I probably could have left a little bit later but I hate rushing. I was bound for Sydney and the flight was delayed by 15minutes.

After a short meeting in Sydney, i drove 2hrs to Newcastle and stayed there Tuesday night and Wednesday night,

Thursday morning, I caught a 7am flight out to Brisbane…and then caught a 4pm flight back home

Is it exhausting? hell yeah, especially considering I have to take tablets in order to fly, so I walk around like a zombie for a hours.

Most embarassing moment: somehow i split the zipper of my skirt. didn’t realize i was flashing my ass until a lady pointed it out -_-”

anyway, it’s nice to be back home.
