We live in a strange strange world….
In the western world, women cannot get enough of tanning ourselves to death (literally). Some sun is good for you, baking your body for hours is NOT. Hello Skin cancer!
In the asian world, women don’t want the sun (there’s plenty of it), they want to be white. So these women go out of their way to buy “whitening cream” and cover themselves up. The extremeity of their coverups was even noted by my partner whilst in Vietnam. He was like ‘you can’t even see their eyes?!!?!?’. Every part of the body was covered so that NO part of the body was facing the sun. Now to do this in the hot humidity that is Asia is crazy.
And there I was… in Vietnam- pale as… wearing t-shirts and shorts trying to get my “tan” on so that it looked like I travelled far and abroad to an exotic country whilst the locals were like “she da crazy” and having loads of people tell me to cover up because being brown is ugly.

Needless to say, i came back with a tan… but now it’s gone
